Published by Editions Galerie Rosenberg, Paris
Lot notes:
Paul Rosenberg was Picasso's dealer beginning in 1918, luring him away from the very influential Parisian dealer, Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler. Later, Rosenberg also represented Georges Braque, Marie Laurencin, Fernand Leger, and Henri Matisse. In the early 1920's, Rosenberg published a set of 10 pochoirs, including the lots presented here, based on Picasso's cubist gouaches. Although very little is known about the origin of the images, they appear to relate to his costume designs for Parade.
